Local Colors

On this day, I made bait, hung out with the fleet a while, then decided to go on the hunt to find my own fish. Eventually, got picked up, quickly found out it was no calico. It's a solid fish, and I had to pull it out of the kelp multiple times, it was up high, down low, and spinning around, fortunately you can try to stay on top of them on a hobie pedal kayak.

Pedaling, steering, fighting your fish, getting worked, and gaffing, sometimes all at the same time, is part of the fun. It was a long fight, and I was getting nervous, the longer these things go, the better the chances I give the fish, but it was a sigh of relief and hoot of joy when I got it on the gaff!

A true Monster of a Yellowtail!!!

Here's a few more colors for you.

You're Welcome Kim. PapaDave, all at LJ!

Water temp is really up there, huh? 73F!!! Would be cool to see some exotics on a 'yak. How cool would it be to get a Dorado or Tuna off a kayak!
