Skunked on Sunday

Fished yesterday and caught my first ever skunktrip. I fished whole dead squid on the bottom and threw plastic from shelter Island out to the bait barge. Got a lively two scoops of mini macs and switched to live bait on the bottom. Made a few passes outside the bait barges and then let the tide bring me back in. Nothing but raked bait from lizard fish attempting to eat a mini Mac. Was still good to get trip number two of the year and get my paddle memory back. Hoping to go again on Saturday. Stoked on the new to me roller system on the roof rack. Did meet a guy as I was unloading who scored a 24 inch Hali on plastic. So my skunk trip is done for the year!!!

Well it's always good to be out.... I've only fished shelter island once and my buddy had all the luck. Pulling a couple legal Halis and a skate on live macs... I hooked up with a Dog.... And that's was my day...keep the bait out and good luck
