1/23 Hook UP II

15 skiffs and about 40 yaks and not much action all around. I got one lucky bite on the squid n jig around 8:30. Got some crazy video to edit as a lil female sealion decided to bite it in the tail just as I was going to sink the gaff............it ran all the way back to the bottom in 120 feet. Winched it back up and gaffed, clipped and bled on board. 32 pounds.......stoked!

B E N D O !

Watch the tip bounce when I get bit.........I just put the power handle on this ProGear, this is my new favorite halibut set up, not sure how it will fair on a YT........but hey GregAndrew gets em on the whip

Way to go Andy, nice fish! And nice reel, too. I have three of them. If you feel you need more cranking power, Penn Jigmaster gears fit and that would drop you from the stock 5:1 to a lower 4:1 ratio.

I have been using those handles for the last 5 years. Get em on ebay from a guy in Torrance for about $14.00 each...

full vid I usually don't worry about those bait stealing female sea lions messing with my fish, this one surprised me, you could see where it bit down right on the middle of the tail...........and then just swam off.
