Anyone has experience with Nucanoe Frontier 12?
Hey y'all... i'm a newbie and just started yak fishing this year with my buddy who has a tandem Hobie.... Now i've got the itch and want my own... while i love the Hobies with foot drives, I'm leaning towards getting a yak that can fit a outboard trolling motor.
Looking to get some feedback or experience from the community here with Nucanoe Frontier 12? i'm planning to use it for fishing and family recreation... Mostly I will fish Mission/SD bays or La Jolla shores/cove during the calm days for yellows/WSB or along kelp beds... also open to other suggestions! Cheers, Alf |

My cousin has a NuCanoe he uses to fish the James River near Richmond for Smallies.
In my view, the Frontier 12 will provide a good, stable platform in the calmer bays, but I would not take it out to sea. The Frontier does not have enough scuppers located on the craft for effective bailing of seawater. Moreover, you may get some splash over the side when the waves from passing yacht splashes towards you. Just some points to consider... |
