Tidelands 5-27-13

Tidelands is quickly becoming my favorite place to fish, caught 10-15 spotties and 1 Yellowfin croker.I hooked what looked to be a legal Hali, as soon as I got color it bolted and snapped my line. I was fishing with 10lb test and had it buttoned down for the bass, big mistake. Oh well fish and learn .And yesterday I was looking at some braid but could not decide on 20 or 30lb test so I didn't buy any .

Tidelands is a fun spot to fish for sure. It's a good place to go play around. There are some nice halibut in there, plus small black sea bass. My buddy pulled up a 60-70pounder out there one day by the piers. We took a few pix. You should try the bridge at night, it's killer.

I was there yesterday. The spotties were busy. You can try all the techniques from shallow water to deep, pick your poison....

At the foot of Coronado Bridge - on the Coronado side.

One of my favorite bay spots also...

As far as the braid goes, go heavier if you can. The lighter braids like to bury themselves in the spool with tension. My two cents

That night fishing sounds like fun especially on our warm summer nights.
