Great video! Nice meeting you Tony. I got turned sideways on the way out & flipped. 1st time ever for me in my PA12. No gear lost but if I wasn't awake before that I sure as hell was after . Had a butter-smooth landing though.

Rockfish Derby Video!

He didn't get my launch on video or I'd be more famous.
Not my best day at La Jolla!

Classic, great stuff Tony...kept waiting for you to fade back to the elevator music and the lonely guy at the launch in the blue yak, you nailed it each time, great timing...just charge it already!

And uh, Jorge, that wasn't even a wave, more like a ripple...

as Andy (i think) said in another thread.... i was kinda surprised at how many people opted to launch/land in the surf instead of staying dry and launching/landing south of avenida del playa

Its funny how so many people think that moving farther south by a few hundred yards is a huge difference in surf then the new launch. There really is no difference, I scope it out every time and it is the same waves, height, frequency, etc. There is no point to drag your yak down the beach for no real difference. On the same note if you were to launch north of the new launch area (which you are not supposed to do anyways) then there is a significant difference in wave height. Last time I went out I had a dude yelling at me "move south" for a minute or two and just south of me the waves were the same as where I was at.

good stuff, loved the elevator music tight interval is the worst! Rather have it twice the height at 16 seconds!

Chuck,

not as obvious on those 7 second wind swell days, but still less energy at the launch because of the canyon head eating it up. With Ground swell it is very obvious, love this photo of Brad back on Big Wednesday. There were 12-15 foot waves being ridden past the Cove and he came in with out surfing a wave. Wish I had a better shot of this one.

dudes were landing at shores where the longboard crew surfs. GIGANTIC difference with any trace of swell.

Don't feel bad for jorge. He's the only one that can have a yard sale with style and look good doing it. Congrats on the win brotha.
