Dude!!! Epic!!!!
Glad u got one after getting broke off. I saw that 2nd hook up and the tail thrashing at your bait. Too cool.
It was a fun day at the jewel.
Congrats on a fish of a lifetime!

I got my 90 pounder by 10 along w a 20lbs yellow.

That's probably the biggest I've seen taken on a kayak. I remember catching one of those...it wasn't that big thought! Impressive!

Once my brother got it to the surface it was completely done and just about turning over on its side. Gill gaffed and humanely stuck the long fillet knife in the gills to bleed it out quickly.

Lower jaw damage was from the gaff when we were lifting it onto the boat that towed it in for us.

Well done! I agree with the no gaff advice and like to start with a lighter drag, then tighten it down and deploy a sea anchor to slow 'em down...

First off I'd like to say hello and thanks for all the rad comments! We are both new to kayak fishing but not fishing, dad did a great job putting rods in our hands
at a very young age(thanks dad).

I agree with you 100%, I made the decision to gaff it, after three hours this thing was done and starting to roll on its side. My younger brother had a 5' gaff that really helped make the decision, he got in front of it avoiding the tail end and made a perfect gaff in the gills and I got the tail rope.

Love the site, thanks guys the older brother.

Wow! Awesome haul. Good thing you had a friendly boater out there or you might still be trying to tow that sucker to the beach.

What's up brotha, good meeting you today.I'll post a report later tonight, just had dinner and now enjoying a victory beer! I could of stayed there all day watching EVERYONE rolling on the way in including myself. It was shitty out there today to say the least. The best was watching that kayak that came in surfing a wave all by itself, poor guy was a good 60' out. Lol!
