Next time let's not mess around with rockfish in the morning. Just go straight out. We saw a few terns, but didn't really go check to see what was going on. Instead of trolling sardines that kept disappearing from my hook, I'll have to bring a crank bait or something and troll that.

I just sold my boat a couple weeks ago and came back to kayaking. Kayak fishing is more enjoyable if you ask me.

I'm heading out on the Aztec tomorrow for a 2 day trip. Should be a blast it's a private charter with 20 guys. Let's hope it's tuna time.

Soooo.... Cabrillo was nice today .... Managed to bring home a measly 25" butt ... Lost 2 never saw color on them i think one was side hooked. Then trolling back in I get hammered thing was a beast.... Just inhaled the whole sardine... Brought it to color.... Stupid me always puts the gaff way in the back I turned to reach for it lost a few seconds there... Get the gaff.... Go for the kill... Sees the gaff says fu#* no buddy does a mean head shake cuts the line right on front of my face FML!! Was about 35-40" and fat!! Here's a pic of my little butt for your eyes to feast on... My buddy Benny also got a nicer 32" butt and a giant bat Ray

Thanks. We skunked. Had bait tabk problems. Would not puml water above 5mph so we went kayka speed to preserve bait. We went out 7 miles lots of boats. Instantly someone pulls out a huge dorado. So we soaked and chummed saw a few marks but never came up. No one else hooked up. We left hit a couple of dry patties then hooked up on a shark 2 miles from harbor. It cut us off after 5 minutes. Had to get off early. Cant wait to take this out sometime next week though.
