you're not seeing the switch that would turn it off because its not there

Okay someone help here as soon as i connect the wires to the battery it automatically turns on there is nothing to turn it off unless i get an on off switch

Yep.....if you have bait in your tank why turn it off?

There is a switch in between my pump and battery. Fish finders mostly have an on/off button so you don't need to run a switch

Running 2 batteries is the preferred method. No need to make it more complicated. Get a waterproof case for battery on or near bait tank, put battery in box, catch bait, hook up battery, run battery all day, unhook battery on the way in.

I have my PA17 wired up for 12V on all systems. I got a smaller sized 12V motorcycle battery at Walmart for $50 and it runs everything all day. It is small and it fits in the front hatch easily and doesn't weigh that much.
I custom made a 26 gallon bait tank (Holds a full 1/2 scoop of bait) that sits in the middle of the kayak, an Elite 7 Chirp and running lights for those late evening trips.
