La Jolla, December 9th

Launched with overcast skies this morning and the tide was high. Sun finally broke out and caught these two fish. One weighed in at 32 lbs. and the other was 26 lbs. It's yo yo time. Caught them on 30 lb. test with a blue and white 6x jr. Don't be afraid to use 40 lb. test....these boys have shoulders! Look for the birds and yo yo in that area. I was living right today. Wow.. congratulations Sitinside Jim nice fish, that kind of fish will be a dream come true for me. I fish on Baja and to catch a Yellowtail I will have to paddle at least 6 or 7 miles and be on the right spot on the right day so thats why I usually catch just calicos..

there's a guy on another board who fishes santa rosalita or something along those lines. he gets yellows and grouper by the boat load every trip and is inshore.

Thanks for you reply, I guess you mean "Santa Rosalia" is far from were I live "Ensenada" but you are right "Sea of Cortez" is a paradise for kayak anglers. Next year I'll make a trip to SOC.
