Yakin, now let's test that rack out with two yaks.
If both yaks can sit side by side on the rack it should work perfectly.
I am going to measure the rack right now to see.

quick seat mock up, seat seem pretty comfy!! Just need to fix the anchor trolley line, one side is missing the backing nut. It will be PITA to get to. I think I can get to it through the drain hole some how...need to do HW on this

That car cant get that bad of gas milage. My 01 tacoma only gets 15 mpg. I barely made to san diego and back on one tank!

14-16MPG in the city and barely 20 on the freeways cruising around 80. factory turbo, 300HP and AWD, engine is same size as a soda bottle....yah i didn't buy the car to act like a prius LOL

My buddy just got a 09' trd, trying to get him to get a yak as well.

For the scupper hole idea, I do like that but I've been thinking of added a third strap through the rear doors, tie down the yak to the car rather then depend on the roof rack system. Maybe being too paranoid but never had a kayak on a roof rack before, just my bikes.
Don't want to put undue stress to the scupper holes just tie down your stern and bow like in the pic (oh look its a wrx)

what did you tie down to? The evo doesn't offer easy access to the tow points. Just for loading the EVO onto a trailer or something
