Those look KILLER! Does anyone have a good recipe? I tried one Kay year and it was horrible, like I almost puked upon the first bite.

Insane! I remember when that was all filled with water and couldn't drive past where that bench is. That was only a year and a half ago.

I finally found Irvine Lake but not Ruby's?
I had to pay the ranger $5 just to get into Irvine Park. Irvine Lake is really small but has a nice boat house. Didn't look like the pictures?
The zoo at Irvine Lake is really neat though and worth the price of admission. Lots and lots of different fuzzy and fluffy with some feathered animals & birds.
Speaking of animals, on our way back we stopped to use the rest room at this place called Cooks. Anyone here over been to Cooks Corner? That place is crazy! And everyone rides motor bikes and has tattoos. Nice people but most are scarry. i'll save my story for the camp fire. Its funny.

Mr T-Rex I have a tent now (with a zipper door that can lock) If you really want you can camp with me. Or no?. Peace

I used to party at a biker bar (Hells Angels) a few decades back. I also grew up across the street from a couple Hells Angels; nicest guys in the world.

Well Lizard King (and Cbad)...I might as well give you some insight on these yahoos so you won't go shell shocked after the first hour and run home crying to your mamas like babies with wet diapers.
Be ready for some potty mouths (Jorge and Tony)...LOUD ARSE snoring (Jorge and Tony)...second guessing on anything you do, wear or bring (Jorge and Tony)...serious night time gas (Jorge, Tony and Roby)...great eats (Jorge, Tony, Roby)...be ready for a large hand reaching in your tent copping a feel (Jorge or Tony, I think)

Here are some don'ts for you to consider:
Don't cut corners on the food you bring...quality and quantity.
Don't forget to check your kayak for booby traps when you get home and offload (Roby)
Don't worry about the fishing gear you bring...you'll receive negative comments about it regardless (Jorge and Tony)

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any questions.

Jim

Friday Pre-Fish

Fished Irvine Lake this past Friday. As I pulled out of the driveway in Lake Forest temp read 37 degrees. I thought that's not so bad.

As I drove through the canyon the temp started dropping. When I reached the lake it was 29 degrees.

Spent the day trying to figure out this trout thing. Looks like I am going to need more practice (a lot more).

Ended up with one small trout about 3 p.m. on a trolled jointed floating fire tiger Rapala.

Two firsts that day... learned how to tie the Rapala knot and first fish on that lure.

The earlier picture was a little misleading as not all ingredients had been added. Here is the final product...

New to BWE (?), welcome Boog. Let me take a stab at this...imagine a pack of always hungry, junk yard, mixed breed, dogs (who like to fish!). We each carry an 8 pound sledge in our yaks, ready to smash the shit out of each other if deserved and many times, even if undeserved. But we always, ALWAYS...act like we've been there before. AND...if you're not there with us, we talk about you and smash you with our sledges in spirit. Does this help? Jim

Thank you sir. I think I get it.
1) act like I own the place
2) don't show up to a sledge fight with a small hammer
3) in the game of sewer escalation...don't back down

We're doing this for fun, no causes, no donations, nobody's making money, and no it's not an eating contest. We're going to be hanging out with fellow BWE members having a good time. If it's a tournament your only interested in...then yes we may have a 5 or 10 dollar biggest fish wins maybe biggest stringer...Jackpot. If you win, you get to take a picture with the official Team Sewer trophy.
