Fishing for Threshers.

Considering going fishing for one of these outside newport harbor or at dana.
Never cought one before need some tips on how to catch and how to land them. Kinda concerned on how to land this beast with its tail and all.
Also if anyone is intrested in joining me send me a pm im up for going any day mon-wend this week.

i was thinking of going out on tues. do you fish those spots regularly? im in burbank. i was thinking of going up north. how is it at those 2 spots?

I actully haven't kayak fished either of those spots. Ocean wise I have only been to La Jolla a dozen times. Hence why im lookin for tips or someone to go with that somewhat knows what there doing haha.

ill be fishing Dana on wednesday probably starting early...didnt really have any intention to fish the T's....probably just drift for halis and fish the strands kelp for bass but could be into trolling for threshers if the conditions are right...



maybe paddle out to where those YFT were caught 12 miles off?? what do you think?

Im down for fishing Wednesday. I was just thinking of fishing for sharks cause there something iv allways wanted to catch but im down for fishin for anything I guess.

I hear ya, unfortunately with my 3 reels at shimano getting serviced im fairly limited as i do not have a very extensive arsenal....

I only have a few other setups and the only one that could handle shark is loaded with braided line....which from what ive been told is not good for fishing threshers. I could POSSIBLY throw 10 yards of mono on top but it might be a bit to full??

Either way i plan on being on the water by 6 from baby beach in DP harbor....
