La Jolla 9-15/16/17
Launched again Saturday morning just before 6:00am. Caught lots of bait at the pier and went North for flatties or yellowtail. Drug a mack low with a 1lb weight on a 3-way swivel and another mack flylined. I worked close to the shore all the way up to the glider port and then went out to about 40' and worked my way back down. Only fun I had was a bonita early on, I should have kept it. 3 foot waves, Hawaiian scale. Launched again just before 6:00am on Sunday, caught lots of greenbacks again and headed straight for the NW corner. Continued using the 3-way halibut rig and a flyline mack. Got several zings and raked baits until an 8lb yellowtail took the mack on the bottom in 80' of water. It was tasty for dinner tonight. |

Way to stick it out for a nice family sized yellow. Beats the hell outta a bucket o' KFC.
PS....How did your son let you fish with a swell like that? |
