bait pump for s-14

Well i been looking at diffrent ideas on how people install bait pump on the S-14. But it looks very complicated so here is my idea and what do you guys think of it. On the S-14 bait tank there are threads for the plug on the bottom. So how about using a pump that can be submerged under water. Thread it in there, cut holes in the black plug which you need to do anyway. Run the wired thru the holes to the battery that you can keep under deck on on top of deck. This way you got no holes to cut in the kayak. Except for the electrical wires, The pump can be removed if you dont need it or put back in if you do. If it fails its no big deal at the worst the bait tank would fill with water thats it.. What do you guys think of it. Or is it an old idea already and i just came up with the idea of the wheel after everyone been using it for a life time.

Sasha,

This will work and I have screwed one of the Tsunami pumps into the drain. This is the same pump that Hobie submerges in their tank.

Thanks Andy, So im not crazy then for the idea. Why more people wont do it then?? are there any drawback??? Well the only one i can think of are the threads. But you dont need to make it tight just snag.

Stealth 14 Bait Pump

It is not difficult to install the pump in the stealth. It is designed to reduce drag. Follow the instructions on this video. I didn't drill the holes in the black plugs, instead I use an up pipe and strainer in the plug hole. You can also turn the pump off and just go panga style.
