Slow the MLPA-Here is a letter from commissioner Richards
Tribe, In an effort to slow down the MLPA, Fish and Game Commissioner Dan Richards has stepped out on a limb and written this letter to Secretary Mike Chrisman. Please read the letter: http://www.keepamericafishing.org/do...man_Letter.pdf After you have read the letter, follow this link to the PSO site to help support the efforts of Commissioner Richards to slow down and bring some rationality to the process: http://capwiz.com/keepamericafishing/issues/alert/?alertid=13610961 Thanks, Terry Maas for the Watermen's Alliance |

As is usually the case, discussions about most things eventually come down to money.
In the case of the MLPA, there is the very real question as to whether there will be any funds available for management and enforcement. There is also the potential huge cost to businesses that cater to fishing and related activities. Add to that the significant reduction in tax revenue from all of this lost business. The lost tax revenue will further reduce the potential funding for important public services. This vicious circle is something that should be avoided. I am pleased to see this side of the issue getting more attention. Bob |
