Screwed up
I was down there today and they've got it all screwed up the damn festival keeps getting bigger each year and blocks out the SUPs and kayaks from any decent access.
Time to break out the Outback it's just too darn far to roll the loaded PA to the dock.

I was down there on Sunday as well. Didn't see this post until after, but thanks for the update still. Had a run-in with a grumpy boater at the dock at yelling that I should be using the hand-launch instead for kayaks. After calmly explaining(several times) that the Beach Life event was blocking access to the hand launch, he apologized and said he felt like an ass for giving me such a hard time. We were all good after that. Either way I'll probably be avoiding the area until after the festival. Just don't feel like dealing with the BS.
Also, the irony of this whole situation is not lost on me... "Beach Life Festival! Celebrating the beach lifestyle! **BEACH ACCESS CLOSED!!! **" |

Last Saturday I was there, they were kind enough to let us to drive our car in to load up the kayak. Looks like this weekend we might have to use the hoist.

This thread is about limited access due to the Beach Life Festival. Those festivals are a total traffic jam for local access. I would avoid the area until things normalize around May 10th. Southbay BWE members can feel free to chime in....... Or you can probably get the straight scoop from Redondo Beach Marina 310-374-3481 or https://www.visitkingharbor.com/ If you call, I would also ask about parking access and if any discount parking validation stamps are available. |
