SD Bay 02-04-2024
Started out fairly nice, light breeze from the SE, barely any ripples on the water and the tide was moving out. We started out in our usual spots, no love from the Spotties but I did manage to get a couple of sculpin on an orange hook up bait. The weather started getting rough, the tiny... It did get rough, I'd guesstimate there were 2 foot wind chop from the south as the next storm moved into range, nasty for a kayak. We moved to a more sheltered location, trying a couple of possible spots. I managed to get a fair sized spotty while he caught a lizard fish. On the way in I cruised over a spot I have saved and saw some decent marks, so I dropped down and hooked up on a small sting ray. I went to lightly hold it down with my foot when it did a leaping somersault and jabbed me in the thigh. I yanked that pisser out right away. Needless to say my drive home was painful. The sculpin joined me for dinner.

Darn Stingrays! Sorry to hear about that, but glad that you mentioned it as it serves as a good warning for the rest of us to be extra cautious when dealing with such critters.

It gets really fun hoop netting at night
You learn to do the blue berry bounce on the sting rays but usually the sculpin get tangle in the net.
I been stuck by both 😕
