The trailer connector that runs to the battery box is likely to corrode, it won't happen tomorrow but I can almost guarantee you that it's going to corrode. if you're doing beach launches I can guarantee you it will come in contact with water. If you mount the box to the tank you can put the connector inside the box and prevent saltwater exposure.

Thanks for the tips. I considered the strap vs bungee and went with bungee cords as it was the easier of the two options. I figured it would be easy to switch over at a later date when the time was right. As for the connector, yes I anticipate some trouble with that in the future. All other wire connections are soldered and heat shrink wrapped. I wanted to be able to disconnect the battery box from the pump and tank for easy removal. I will keep the connector lubed with electric connector grease to minimize water corrosion and just be prepared to replace it in the future if I see build up. Thanks for commenting on the project.
