Be cautious of eating anything that lives on the bottom of LA Harbor. There are tons of Monsanto's DDT sitting on the ocean bottom off Whites' point, and the harbor is the resting ground for many of the toxins that wash into the storm drains from the city. On the topic of DDT off the LA coast.. this is a recent article highlighting the trove of mystery barrels being continually uncovered by Scripps/NOAA's sonar imaging between PV coast and Catalina. May not be new information for some, but that sonar image of the barrels is looking more like a long exposure shot of the night sky constellation! Yikes!!
