LJ Report 10/22 am

Well launched right around 6 and headed straight on out to the Iron spots while looking for bait on the way. Along with all of you I had heard rumors of squid and such, but had gotten a few reports the day before of no squid to be found from several reliable sources. And while none of those reports involved finding live squid there were supposedly miles upon miles or Macks and MegaMacks abounding with squid in their bellies. All the while heading out my friend and compatriot Taggermike and I were scanning for bait and looking on my ff for marks and there were none and I mean none to be found! Once reaching the iron spot we started logging day 1 of the iron dues to be paid for winter with the yo-yo. There was bait to be found in the kelp as always but the miles of Macks had disappeared. So off i started with the good old reliable Tady 4/0 blue and white heavy iron. Had one super hard bump on the bottom which may have been right kind but no way to tell in 100' plus, got a few bonito of larger than average size on the drop but not too much else to tell, back on the beach by 10am and off to work. The fog was super, super thick and very easy to get turned around in so make sure you or your bro have a gps or know how to use a compass very well, the fog didn't burn off until 9:30ish, saw a few others at the launch and hope you all fared better than Mike and I with just Bonitos!
