I like BUTTS and I cannot lie,
Just so happens that the Halibut bite has been solid. I ran into a couple buddies, Chad and Ryan and decided to tag along as a group and cover some serious ground. Long story short ended up 3 nice legals( one provided by Ryan ) and the group ended up with 6 total, the biggest being 20lbs. I haven't targeted Halibut before so this was my first as well as my buddies. Went out the following weekend for one little short-18 inches and ton of short bites. Butter Poached Halibut is da bomb! Now its time to get on the bigger grade offshore. WSB-CHECK YELLOWTAIL-CHECK HALIBUT-CHECK BSB-CHECK MALE SHEEPHEAD- MAHI- TUNA- |

Slow troll
Just slow trolling dines on a spider hitch dropper loop( 1.5-2' to the weight & 3-3.5' to the hook. owner 1/0 ringed bait hook.). no stinger either, so you can imagine the amount of short bites we got.
Split a kayak scoop with a buddy and man the way these fish rake baits, its almost better to just get your own scoop. |
