When I go for overnight outing in Avalon, I do not sleep. I take a comfortable camping chair to sit in.
During lobster season, I stay up all night sitting in the chair. I have to pull nets every 15 minutes at sunset, and longer soak time later in the evening. I do take catnaps though, and to make sure I wake up for the pull--I utilize a kitchen timer! The Harbor Patrol in Avalon frowns upon people sleeping on benches at the Mole or The GPP. Some don't even allow you to sleep in your chair. I used to do it for two nights when hooping the Mole, but at the GPP, due to lack of action I do it for one night. When I do stay in a hotel, I stay at Hermosa Hotel. I have been there since 2006, so they give me room close to the street. Send me PM if you have more questions that I can help you with. |
