The kelp won't be up until the water gets cold and stays cold. If you're looking for kelp there's some healthy patches in pt loma

No, not really. Very little visible surface kelp until you get into water <60 feet deep. The water is too warm from El Nino.
Last Friday, there was a lot of loose kelp strings, bulbs and grass floating around. It looked almost like lobster season. |
