Kayak fishing the 'Bu
Also met Sling360 there, nice to meet you Rich! Here's the Boy Scout buncha goofballs: Everyone got out safely through the surf and despite the marine layer they hooked up right away. Calico/Kelp Bass, Olive Rockfish/Johnnie Bass, Mackerel, and Jack Smelt. My son, Cooper, in the orange pfd, had a great time and can't wait to go again! (Lame photo of Cooper by my buddy through a plastic zip lock bag, I think this is the calico he caught.) He also caught a mess of fish, more than me. He caught macs and smelt and was the only one to catch a Johnnie Bass (he got two), and the only kid to catch a Calico. Cooper and I went on a run the next day, and on the run he was telling me about the different fishing techniques he used and why he thinks they worked. He was sounding just like a fisherman! I threw feathers at the edges of the kelp and got a bunch of Calico. A close-up of a nice sized Grump I picked up: Pretty fish! Super fun! Andy Last edited by acorad; 06-08-2016 at 03:27 PM. |

Thanks guys.
I know it's not 25# YTs or 35# WSB, like all the LJ peeps post up, but it's still kayak fishing and it's still fun! Andy |
