Kayak Insurance

So after reading an article on kayak insurance I emailed a buddy who is in the business for a quote. He quoted me $75/year with $500 deductible for a hobie pro angler 12 ($3000 new) plus $2000 in equipment. Equipment includes expensive sunglasses and coverage includes the kayak getting stolen from the truck or on the beach or lost equipment during a wipe out. For $86/year deductible drops to $250. I intend to buy the $86/year policy before my next beach launch

BTW I do not currently have a policy with start farms; if I expect a multiple policy discount.

My company covers everything we own. I don't need a "rider" for my kayaks. They treat them the same as my bicycles. Granted I don't have a "you want how much for that new Pro Angler?!?".

It only sounds expensive until the day you need it or use it.

I also got mine through State Farm covered on my renter's insurance policy!
With my multi car discount it cost me $0.

I might be wrong, but I think I remember asking my homeowners ins agent about that. I think we are covered already without a special umbrella. I think it might be the same with renters ins too.....do you already have homeowners or renters and it was not covered and your agent said you needed an umbrella?

Those with multi-policies, that include life, should be careful if they choose to disclose that they fish on a piece of plastic. When I was getting quoted this came to mind when they were asking about possible high risk activity. I remember they asked specifically about scuba, sky diving, etc.

I always knew it covers while in the home but are you saying coverage extend to on the water?
