Vacation!

Finally got some real time off and headed back to the Sierras on vacation. So instead of fishing LJ like I have been lately, I hit some mountain streams and high elevation lakes for trout. The bite was wide open! Caught 50 plus fish over three days. This was the biggest at 23 inches. Most were stocked rainbows and golden trout, but I did get a few natural browns. Great weekend to boost my confidence and restore some sanity after some failed attempts at LJ. It's nice to get back to what I grew up doing. Now, to get back to killing squid and mackerel in a desperate attempt to catch a YT or WSB. About 30 percent of the fishing I did was on a kayak, so I guess this is relevant to this site.

Thanks for the report. I'm heading to Rock Creek Lake next week and am looking forward to some good fishing.

Haha, not this one! She was too busy looking for bugs in the creek. I was hoping to put up some pics of Leavitt lake but my daughter was playing on my computer and deleted them.

The lighting does make this one look like a brown in this pic, but it was actually a big rainbow.
