That is a nice fish Ross, and not skinny at all. If you had a 44" fish that was over 40 then that fish was an Elephant (and probably just pre-spawn). I have had 2 fish that were 44" and were both a couple ounces either side of 34lbs. Probably every catch you make will seem skinny compared to your big one. Just like my 45.5" 45lber was 3/4" shorter than my previous best which was 38.5lbs. I don't expect to see one with that weight to length ever again. But, like Tony mentioned the other day, the local Slam species seem to be on an upswing in numbers and size. So we have hope!

Thanks Greg. She was definitely spawned out and and an empty stomach. I had 3 or maybe 4 small males follow her up.

Great way to kill a few hours! I haven't seen a sizeable hali at DP for 2-3 months. Nice to see they are still around - creates some hope for the following weeks. Thanks for reporting.
