La Jolla 8/2 report
Plan B. Target Rockfish. I found some Coppers but they were small so back they went. From there I couldn't find a rock pile to save my life. Plan C. Fish the kelp. I played Checkers for about two hours. I was trying for some reds at the base of the deep kelp but just caught lots of these between 12" and 17". Plan D. Take my eyes off the water and appreciate my surroundings. In the end Plan D. Was the most satisfying of the day. It had been almost a year since my last La Jolla trip. Anything I caught today was a bonus. MAN!!!!!!! Are we LUCKY or what, to be able to do this? Patrick |
