LJ - 9/22 - MadScientist Bait works wonders -

Had to drop the kids off @ school and did not get to meet my buddy Kevin Nichols at the launch until 9:00am. Paddled out to make bait and ran into Brad on his way in. He was kind enough to pass off 6 pieces off prime pier caught Greenbacks which gave us a leg up on an already late start. THANKS BRAD - Very Cool. 8)

We shot out into 140' of water to get out of the root beer float and as soon as the water cleaned up - game on. My mackie get hit and I land my tail. 20 minutes latter Kevin's get hammered and he gets his very 1st yak Tail. Tis after 6 months of persistent trips with me. Very stoked for you Kev.

Sunny day w/ lots of birds outside. Bite seemed to shut off @ slack high tide - so we paddled in. We each got another strike on the troll in - but clumsy hook sets costs us a duo. That's OK - We're happy the ocean gave us a fine meal.

Glad those greenies worked out for you. I had a feeling it was going to break open at some point, just wish I could have stayed out longer. Oh well, beautiful morning and there's always tomorrow .

About what time did you get bit? Was the fog thick when you were out?

I have a chance to get out tomorrow, just wondering about the conditions.

Afran -

Got bit between 10:00 am - 11:30 am during incoming high tide swing.

Skies were sunny from the git go - but conditions change daily - so if fog is a concern - check the Scripps Web Cam for current conditions.

Enjoy.
