I opted for the Black Diamond Storm. 4 AAA batteries, waterproof and up to 100 lumens was enough for me. I liked it so much, bought my dad one too.
I'm not sure if the Sprinter can take regular batteries? If it's only usb, that might cause and issue. http://www.rei.com/product/814301/bl...storm-headlamp |

Better get 2 of them if you're going to be out all night. Or use the low output mostly. Looks like a nice light George.

Looks pricey....i ordered 6 of these a while back.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-6-Super-...item35baace5bb If you search around you can find them for 2.99ea w/free shipping. It took a while to get them but they are the same as the entergizer version sold in the major reatailers for $15-20. I like them cause the push button on/off is tough to acidentally hit while you have it in you drybag or whatever....I've only broke on so far only because it got dunked. Since everything on my yak is destine for Davies locker anyway, i have a hard time spending alot of $$ on such a simple piece of equipment. |

I got the Storm too. Really awesome. Used to use Petzl Tikka XP, XP II, and E-Lite. The Storm retired them all.
I would steer away from the Sprinter. I have Petzl and BD headlamps with external batteries. That cable that connects the battery to the fixture always seems to fail from wear and tear over time. |

I have a coast HP7
It takes 3 AAA batts and is 145 lumens but has a lever that will dim it down to about 20 lumens.the lens has a dial focus that adjusts from spot to flood.I got it at Lowes it was $50.I have been very happy with it but it is a battery hog on high but amazingly brite. It is a single LED a CREE type(whatever that is) I like the idea of a rechargeable battery though.I use mine all the time at work.
