Online license card purchase (warning)
Bought my license online a few weeks ago at the DFG website and got it a few days later. Cool... done deal right. Well today I got a call from my bank because they detected someone using my card info online at Amazon.com and at a Hotel in a suspicious manner. They blocked the transactions and are issuing me a new card. Just curious but anyone else get a call from your bank after buying a license online. Let's just say I'm a little suspicious that someone got my info from the DFG. Jim |

cash is king. support your local tackle shop. even if they dont make any money off of the licence, you might buy something else. Plus how do we know if your credit card company supports MLPA actions (seems like lots of companys are involved). Just my opinion.

In regards to your issue, i purchased mine online before going out on dana wharf 2 fridays ago and received it within a week. No problems with random, suspicious purchases yet. Unfortunately my mom threw the envelope away that it was in so i am again without a license....gonna try gettin online with an agent and telling them it never arrived and getting a new one issued. |

Most shops have a DFG computer terminal now, it uploads your info and prints out the license on mylar paper.
I bought mine at charkbait. Squidco has one too.

right on. glad to hear they fixed that because it was kind of ridiculous how few options their were prior. I still think the only places around DP is DW and Big5...pretty sure hogans and jig stop are still out of the loop.

hey jim, perhaps you have trojan virus or something. you should run a scan on your computer with a good virus scan if you had not done so already.

I'm thinking about making some changes anyway so might wipe the drive and install a new operating system but it's probably fine. I figured it might be some online retailer, that or a gas station but you never know, it could of come from anywhere. Just threw this out there to see if happened to anyone else. A while back there was an credit card scam issue with a popular Gas station up at Castiac where I got diesel there all the time, because it was the cheapest place around. When one of the guys posted about it on FNN at least a dozen posters had been hit, most for over $300+. After that I quit using the station. Evidently someone was putting a piece of hardware in the pumps, a credit card skimmer, and when they would change the receipt paper they'd retrieve the collected data, and move it from pump to pump. Anyone who used a card with a pump with the skimmer in it had their info stolen. Since the stations right next to the lake a lot of fisherman got hit. That was a few years back, and it didn't happen to me but you never know. I mean it's no big deal these things happen. I'll give BOA credit they had me on the phone before it even made it to my account. Jim Last edited by Fiskadoro; 01-26-2012 at 01:05 PM. |

Fresno, two years ago. Gas station skimmed my card info. BofA took care of it instantly with a complete refund of all suspect transactions.
I seriously doubt that DFG would be the culprit here. Probably one of your gas stations or a porn site. Quit visiting those places Jim! (I mean the gas stations) |

There has been a rash of this type of thing going on in the North County area lately. More than 100 cases have been reported to the Sheriffs office in Vista in the last 30 days of so.
Jim, I dont know your location but this should be reported to the local law enforcement especially if you are in the North County area. KirkG. |
