yes, showers and restrooms. Lot has maybe 15 available spots, plenty of street parking. The sand is very soft, makes for a tough drag of the wheel cart. Cool spot.

My favorite spot, close to bait, CDM. The only thing, like the previous post said you got 150 yds of sand to plow through. I am not sure if the construction is still going on there. Even during construction the beach stayed open.

Yep, construction still ongoing. I used to use the walkway to cut down on the drag through the sand but its blocked now with the construction. Construction is supposed to be done sometime this year.

Have the repairs to the docks been completed? Last time I was there, the ramp down from the parking lot/docks was closed.

parking
there is parking right where you turn in from Bayside Dr. i think there is a sign that states that you can park between 6-???. we usually get there early morning and don't have to worry about finding a spot.
regards to the sand, make sure that you have a wheelez type of wheels on your cart or have buddy with you. stinkymatt and i found out that we weren't as young as we thought. have fun and give us a fishing report. |

Yes, i have the wheeleez sand wheels for the kayak. Does anyone know if the parking is still open for the beach section?
I am guessing the circled part is the parking, hopefully it is open. Last edited by wiredantz; 01-14-2011 at 07:35 AM. |

No it's back in the trees. The part you have circled is for the Harbor Patrol. You park by Bayside Dr. as you go in.

I really appreciated the founder of this thread because there are nbumber of the people who are not well informed about the Newport. So for those people this thread is really valuable.
