Sorry to hear about your fishing day at la jolla giving you the bird. Had the same bird on me last week. fishing is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get! your mercy for the bird is very admirable!

In Japan they take a ring and fix it to the birds neck so it can't swallow whole fish. Of course they have a leash attatched to the ring. Could be a cool new way to make bait.
