Okuma T50 New $89

Big 5 has a sale going on right now for the Okuma T50 for $89
There is also a Diawa Saltist for $129

Looks like a lot of the reels are marked down along with some of the rods.

Here's a link to an even better deal if you can find the reel.

Personally I would use it. In fact I saw a nice combo at Big 5 that I think had that reel and a rod to go with it for about $85 I think.

Obviously too big for a Kayak but if you do any boat trolling this is a nice buy.

The titus Gold reels are the best Okuma makes. I see they are listing even a 30 at $120, that is a great deal.

The New Makaira is the best reel Okuma makes. Its a completely redesigned reel - nothing like the Okuma reels of the past.

Okuma has handed out several of these reels for people to fish hard - and then return to Okuma for evaluation - so far, so good.

They have taken some big fish this year including this #274 Yellowfin at the bottom of this link.
Read the reel specs, double dog anti-reverse and more.

Check out the some of the posts in this link - there is also a Video with a marlin attached.

Personally I like Okuma gear and the price is also nice. I have a spinning reel that I have owned for about 10 years and it's still going strong. I also like the big reels as well.

SHOP LOCAL !!!

I pretty sure squidco and/or charkbait will beat those prices, in most cases by alot! check'em out!

I like the graphite reels from the major manufacturers for the kayak. They are built tough, easy to service and parts are cheap/easy to find.
The Diawa Sealine sha-30-40 or 50 and the Shimano TLD-15 lever drag are my favorites.
