Hobie Revo/wheels question

OK, so I finally got around to getting a set of wheels. A buddy was with me the first time I put them on. Getting the kayak off of the wheels was pretty easy. However, when I was done I became the entertainment of the day with people watching me try to lift the yak and install the wheels in the scupper holes. Has anyone perfected this fiasco?

Just roll the kayak on its side, slide the support rods into the scupper holes and roll it back. Removing the unit is even easier. Lift the kayak by the stern until the thing falls off.

Bob has it right for installing the wheels. Just make sure you do this before loading items on your kayak

As for taking them off, raising the stern so the wheels are off the ground normally works, but occasionally they do not fall out of the holes very easily. While it takes some stretching, while lifting the kayak by the stern, I use one leg to knock the wheels down and out of the holes. Not very elegant, but it works.

Just be careful with the scupper holes, I got a crack in mine and almost sank!

well i am lazy and usually have gear that is unsecured on my deck. so what i do is just wade out into the water just far enough (about 18" or 2ft) and just slide them under the boat, line up the rods with the holes and and then bring the wheels down and seat the wheels in the scubbers. sometimes it can take a bit of effort to get those wheels down, but it lets me wheel my yak right out of the water.

You can also open the rear hatch and get an extra gripping or lifting hold...
