he lives in Encino.
stolen from his gated parking structure.
Although he viewed a surveillance tape
no real detail was viewable other than it was a white Lexus SUV
with dealer plates.

Keep an eye open for them on Craigslist.

-They will probably be sold somewhere like San Diego or Orange County.

Meaning he had them loaded on his vehicle? Sorry to hear this. Like all, I think we will be keeping our eyes on craigslist.

I have cable locks for mine and haven't used them, always figuring someones gotta be out to get the kayak, have a vehicle to transport, etc...

Guess it's time to break them out and use the locks

I noticed on my yak a number - I plan to enter the # on my phone or computer in case it is stolen. I suggest others do the same. Then when/if a yak appears on craigslist or wherever for sale, we can look up the # and know if it was stolen.

I'll keep my eyes open. I have checking Craigslist to buy a yak and I find that L.A. and Orange County have more to offer, if I see anything like you mentioned I'll let you know.

Just struck me, saw a White Lexus SUV yesterday, dealer plates, driving REAL stupid on 805 South. Did not have any Kayaks in/on it, but the decal on the rear window stated "Courtesy Loaner" from Lexus Dealer.

Made me wonder who they give loaners to. And maybe, just maybe the loaners are used for other than legal activities.
