WANTED - Spin Rod

I am looking for a used or new:

8-9' Spinning Rod / (- not a 10' Surf stick..)
1 or 2 piece
30,40,or 50# weight

( I have been driving all around north county looking for one..any thoughts or links beside heading to the nearest east coast K-mart? )

Thanks!

You may have to try ordering it over the internet. Thery're used a lot for Salmon and Steelhead so there isn't a big market for them down here.

I think I saw some decent looking ones at Sport Authority. Big 5 sometimes has deals as well.

i didnt think there was any market for them here?! LOL
i need it to cheat for casting till i hone my surface skills..
i seem to choke under the excitement when the boils erupt and 1/3 of the time i end up tossing a NICE birdsnest in haste..

the walmarts here in oside & vista dont , only huge ones, and neither did sports A..i will try the internet as a last resprt, just wanted something cheap & local first so i dont have to wait..thanks

9 foot Quantum Omni

I found my nine foot Quantum Omni at Bass Pro shop in Rancho Cucamunga. It's rated 15-40 lb with lure weight 1/2 to 4 oz. I think the combo was 89.00.

Find a blank with a 30 lb rating and have a basic wrap done on it.

That would be the best way to go!
Pull on a couple blanks you like, and get it wrapped. Plus the rod will be exactly what you want... you choose the components, you pick your favorite color scheme, you get exactly what you want...
After shipping and handling, an online order wouldn't be much cheaper than a custom wrapped rod.
(BTW I wrap rods... )

O'side right? Go over to CBad lagoon (dog beach) and practice hucking it, and get to know your jig stick and reel and find your groove. You never know you may get lucky and foul hook a 30 lb bat ray and actually get to feel your rod bend for once like I did. I pretty much doubled the cranks of the handle by spending a about 1.5 hrs over the course of a week or so. All so I dont blow my load early when the opportunity presents...
