Hobie Seat Recommendations

I would like to upgrade my kayak seat, is anyone using an aftermarket seat on their Hobie ?

If so, what model, and how is it working out ?

Thumbs up

Why do you want to upgrade?

If its for a softer seat pad, I glued in some velcro strips to the seat and an after market seat pad and stuck it in there.

All the air filled seat pads will leak in due time. Some in 1 month, others in a year. The best after market seat pad out there is the SKWOOSH. It is simply amazing.

This one looks pretty cool. I have no clue what the brass rivit or ring is for on the seat portion??

Pacific Angler worked killer for me while my shoulder put me in an Outback for a while.

My Dad just purchased the Revo. The seat does not seem to stay in the two holes that are at the bottom of the seat. We try to push down and screw those rubber gromets in and it doesn't seem to stay. Is there a way to make the seat stay in the same position? Thank you for your help.

The seat keeps sliding forward while I peddle or I move around, so I thought I might try another.

I am going to try some velcro on the bottom of the seat pad, and on the kayak this week. Thats really my only complaint.

On my last Revo I developed 2 cracks in the seat holes, so I know the area is not that strong. I don't want to deal with pounding the seat pegs into the seat holes again, I know they will eventually crack.

The New Hobie seat may even worsen this condition as it uses a cam lock design to expand inside of the seat holes. I would not dare try it.

The comfort is ok, its just that the seat keeps sliding around. So other than the Velcro, I may want to try another mounting system like Pacific Angler.

-Iceman- tell me more about that seat.

The first time I tried a Hobie,(aside from having trouble seeing through my mask) I was left wondering how these guys do it, as my back was killing me after. The Pac Angler is the tallest seat on the market and also wraps around you, so your lower back is not stressed. It does not slide around if properly adjusted and tightened. My current favorite.
