LJ 6/1
Made about 5 greenies and a dozen Spanish at the 1st can at about 5 am. Made my way to the corner, stopping along the way to pick off about a dozen small misc rockfish on the megabait on the way. Halfway there I also picked up a 30” ling on a greenie. Someone else had also picked him up recently, as the fish still had a fresh hook and tag line hanging out of it mouth. Makes me wonder if bronze hooks are better than the expensive owner or Gamakatsu hooks? Did not rust out, but did not effect its appetite, either way, this ling was still hungry… He is still swimming… Bottom line for me, no big game fish like YT, Hali or WSB, but it was a good way to spend a few hours before work. No surf, little wind, small swell. I love this place. If you also love this place I strongly suggest that you attend the next MLPA meeting this Thursday. Our presence NEEDS to be strong if we want to be able to continue to fish our best spots. We will not go down without a fight! See other threads by PAL or Holy Mack for more info! Steve |

Cool looking fish
Those are some pretty neat looking fish, especially the fourth fish (is that a tree fish?) and that Ling sure was lucky to meet you and not someone else.
Mind me asking what the "megabait" you were using is? I've heard of everything from crank-baits to soft plastics called that. |

Ya Don, I saw you as you were driving away on Saturday. Fishing was a bit rough that day. First time I've ever been dealt a complete skunk at Dana. I blame it on the boat show
