Sandy Days

I got the chance to fish for 3.5 hours today...
(waaaaayy up north....Malibu)
I almost didn't go due the lack available time,
but since the weather predictions for the
next several days looks like
crappola...I figured a couple hours is better than none...
REALLY glad I went...
there's always time for a new PB...
My personal best sandy was 6 lbs 13 oz...
the record has officially been broken....
7.5 lbs on the boga...(wish I'd a had a digital)

this big guy was the first drop of the day...
gotta love a big 'ol grumpy sandbass...
it was pretty much WFO...
and on a variety of lures...no bait or stinky stuff needed...
strictly artificials...
all total, I got about 20 nice fish today in about 3.5 hours...
I regretfully left them biting....
most fish were in the 2 .5 to 3.5 lb range...
only three were under 2 lbs...
this was the average critter

and this guy tipped the scale at just over 4.5 lbs...

what a day...
all fish were happily released to bite another day...
I sure hope the weather allows at least
one day this weekend to fish...

Hogs! I think its easy to judge a sandies weight by looking at how absurdly large their lips are in comparison to their body. I'm gonna say the one in the last pic weighed exactly 4.76 lbs.

BTW, big props to Josh for being one of the only smart guys out there that usually is wearing his PFD, and has pics to prove it.
