Only Good Times...RIP Tony Park
I’ll always remember only the good times and...deep in him...his good heart. Dude shredded me many times and I’d have fun flinging it back at him. I remember my first Irvine Lake camp out. It was a big deal (to me) for the Team Sewer invite. Tony would remind everyone to bring a quality dish to share, or else. I remember he brought lobster tails, for all of us. Me, I wanted to impress him (and everyone else) and so purchased a stack of beef short ribs (not cheap). Marinated w a proven recipe. I was good to go. Started bbqing and when a few were ready, Tony walked up to see what I was cooking. OMFG, the look of disdain...he proceeded to tell me he eats beef short ribs w his Korean family at least two times a week...bahahaha!!!! Everyone else loved them. RIP Big Tony. Jim

I remember the look of disappointment on your face.
We definitely shared some good times, Gonzaga, many tournaments, camping, etc.

We had an epic butt bite on a squid bed several years ago. Tony put together a bad ass video. The catch pic shows (8) butts ranging from 15-31#'s. One dude left early w two more and a tail. Adi got a 40#er plus others...good times!
Weird pic...the butt in the upper left corner was the 31# fish. These were quality. If you ever wanted to see what a squid bed looks like... https://youtu.be/xP3bphUOLO0

A bunch of us went to Irvine Lake for good times and great food. This is Tony's video of the weekend. One can tell he and Jorge had a great friendship.

Tony did not pull any punches, he would tell you how it is, but such a truly good dude, saddened by his passing and will surely miss him!

Tony was a big guy with an even bigger heart. He was a supporter of many causes and took care of his family and friends. Always loved his sense of humor. Tony didn't mess around when it came to fishing and never half assed anything. I'll miss you Tony, may you and your father rest in peace.

Saw Tony at several of the local tournaments but met him one day while floating around with the malibu crew.. We where down in Pedro, and ran into him at Busy Bee's after a decent day pulling rock fish from the wall..
All sentiments are true to word.. Never had a chance to get to know him but all the friends held him in high regard.. A little rough around the edges at first but hey.. Dope aint free a man with his knowledge is so sad to think about loosing.. May his family somehow heal from this Fair winds and following seas brother

Going to be missed but never forgotten
This is a hard pill to swallow. Tony was a good friend and selfless man. I was lucky enough to fish with him countless times and travel to many places with him, close friends and new friends north and south. He was always kind, inviting, funny and selfless. He was also one hell of a kayak fisherman but even a better man. I also imagined doing another trip with Tony and the crew all together at least one more time. I hope that we can put something together. A trip, a tournament or some get together that can honor Tony’s memory. I know there are many others that were very close to Tony and my heart goes out to you guys especially. Rest In Peace my friend. Seeing videos again with Tony and Bob break my heart but also make me feel lucky and privileged to have known such fine people in my lifetime. I only hope that I can impact other people’s lives such as people like Tony have. Tight lines Tony.

Sorry to hear. Never met hun personally but always enjoyed his reports. Dude put a lot of hours in on his kayak. Back when I was still in the yak game he was almost always out there when I’d head out.

I had met him in different events.
At the Redondo white seabass grow out pens. As the Turks would say, “may he rest in light”. |

How is it that two (Bob, and now Tony) of the top 4 contributors to the BWE forum are now deceased? Looking back at Tony’s posts, they were awesome! Many catches set a high bar for inspiration. On top of that, Tony’s youtube channel shared glimpses of the many BWE characters.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RR0O...ku5lBTsQf_ww9_ Thank you Tony -- Perhaps I won’t feel like a total stranger when I finally make it back to kayak fish SoCal? Condolences to his friends and prayers for Tony, his father and the surviving family. May Tony RIP and always enjoy a ful-rac. |

This is shocking, sad news. Tony was bedrock, such a solid guy. I looked forward to crossing his path. He was always nice with me, I never saw the rough edges that he saved for his close friends.
RIP to one of the best. |
