Ventura Oil Rig - Gina
A friend and I are thinking of pedaling out to the oil rig Gina from Channel Islands Harbor this Sunday. We have never fished up in Ventura, nor an oil rig at that matter. The kick looks to be about 4 miles as the crow flies from the harbor mouth. It should take about two hours each way assuming the current isn't ripping. This post from 2012 mentions Gina, but was hoping to get more input on it. http://www.bigwatersedge.com/bwevb/s...highlight=Gina 1. Based on Windy, the current direction is coming from the south. Wind and swell are predicted to be westerly. Is a kick out to the rig doable and worth it? 2. Has anyone ventured out that way recently? Any recommendations or constructive advice would be appreciated. Thanks! Anthony |
