Does SW swell hit the LJ launch?

I have never launched at La Jolla and was wondering what direction swells hit the launch beach hardest?

Thanks,
DB

NW swell and occasionally the W swell, are when it gets bad, but it is usually smaller there than in most other places. I've occasionally seen some pretty big surf in LJ but never any that I wouldn't go through to get to a bite!

Close-period wind-swell is the worst at the Shores. Most other long-period swells are deflected/refracted by the canyon, and don't make it into the corner there.
