I am thinking Saturday would be the best day at Leo.
I plan on being there at 6:00. If it doesn’t look good I will head to CI and fish the harbor. |

Yea, OP and I met up around 0530. Weather was nice, a little chilly. we launched around 0630, made bait 6-8 mackerel and a couple of lizard fish. trolled those around on Carolinas and reverse droppers with no luck. switched to bass/rock fishing, I didn't have much luck. OP got a few nice bass, a 17" calico and a keeper Sandy. Nice Fish, maybe hes got some pics.
We called it at about 1230. Swells were pretty big early in the morning and they settled down as the day went on. It was my first surf launch and I got bodied a couple of time by the waves but made it out on my third attempt. Almost made it back on my landing but got rolled right at the end. OP helped me out when to pick my spots to go back in tho, that was pretty cool. Over all a pretty good day, gained some experience, but I will say that the walk from the parking on PCH down around the bathrooms to the launch spot and back, without sand wheels was quite a trek. I will definitely be investing in sand wheels. |
