LDJ was workin'

The AHI Live Deception Jig (a megabit type metal jig) with the Anchovie print was the hot ticket today...I caught 4 of my 5 Bonito on it today and also had a few big Grumpy Sand Bass jump on it in the deep water...they pulled pretty hard for the first few seconds and surprised me...but there's nothing like those big strong Bones when they see the kayak or the net and they take off... and then you're on for another battle while they pull out some more line...

Love that Promar ProMesh net for trebble hooks and it saves putting a hole in a good fish...

Haven’t been to Redondo in years. Thinking about heading out this Sunday. How’s the launching situation these days?

I see, thanks. I asked because no bones to be found in La Jolla last weekend. Our water here is cooling pretty rapidly. 66-64 last weekend

That's a massive bonito for a kayak range! Could it be >24" long ?
Bonito have a daily limit of 10, size limit: 24" fork length or 5 pounds, but 5 fishes less than the limit may be taken - Sec. 28.32(b).
Years ago they were plentiful inshore but always smaller than 24", so the limit of 5 was (and still is) insufficient.

The ones I got a couple weeks ago were right around 24" 5 was plenty for my needs so we stopped at 5 each. We could easily have hit 10 each within an hour.
