Went out on my cousins boat on thanksgiving day in the morning from 6-1 and repeat the next day. On Thursday it was great fishing from first drop to the end of the day on rockfish. Got our fill on rockfish pretty quick. The white fish were abundant. After loading up we fly lined sardines for whatever would take. Had some fun on bonitos and then hooked something “big” first thought was seal but after getting nearly spooled and not seeing the seal come up my guess changed to a train black sea bass. Tightened drag down and the hook came undone. Friday was near same with rockfish and bonitos mixed with calicos.
Both days the white fish bite was insane. I’ve never caught so many mixed grade white fish.
Conditions were perfect with flat seas and warm weather in November 😲!
Not sure what I love more, eating rockfish or fishing for rockfish.
