I lived on the East Side in Kaneohe a few years...we fished power boats off shore pretty deep and about 20+ miles out. All trolling...and did well.
You can check in at the docks and see if they have boats running. |

Thanks for the info.
I've been scanning the internet for fishing / hunting info and it seems pretty tight lipped except for expensive guides and charters. |

Hawaii...?
Check out these speakers at the Fred Hall Long Beach Show. Maybe they can help you with some suggestions on guides or areas.
Jon Jon from Maui will be speaking at the Hobie Seminar area on Friday and Saturday at 4pm. And Robert Field will be speaking at 2pm on Friday and Saturday. Here's a quick list of the other speakers at the Hobie seminar stage in Long Beach... Yanni Hassir, Team Sewer, Steve Green & Andy "The Ice Man", Gilbert Hernandez & Ken Rosburg, Charlie Wardle, Jeff Mariani (Cedros Kayak fishing) & Mike Ponce and Kevin Nakada. Seminar times will be in the Western Outdoor News Fred Hall Special...but I'll post them up here once they are final.
