Happy New Year Guys!

Pretty slow fishing around here...no sign of the flat kind or exotic kind for quite a while. Seems like they're all on vacation... So I thought I'd start the new year with a bang with some sandbass fun. Jammed out to one of my go to Sandbass spots and decided to see if anybody was home. Metered the first reef...it didn't look very impressive, so I started my drift toward the second reef with less than stellar results. Metered around the area and found another spot that was holding, dropped on it and got an immediate response. Staying on the spot wasn't too hard considering the wind/swell/current was pushing hard to the West. The fact that I can now go in reverse with the MD180 gives me that extra bit of control that was missing before. Once I got the first one it was steady pick on them with some nicer models in the mix. Haven't kept a sandbass in a long time but gonna fry these suckers up this Thursday.
