Dana Point 10/1

Launched at 5:00 am in my 17' CC and went 15 miles off the domes looking for YFT. Lot of the San Diego fleet was there but zero signs of life in 71.6 degree water.

My son had to work at 12:00 so at 8:00 we ran back and fished for bass off of Salt Creek - threw about 15 live baits out in 60 feet in water and instant foamer on 10-14" Calicos and small Barries. Calicos were getting airborne chasing the bait!

On the way back saw a kayaker paddling near the boiler rock off the break water - idled by and asked him if he was a BWE member and he said yes. Asked him if he needed any bait and he said the hose on his bait tank came off so all his bait was dead. Filled him up with 2 dozen freshies and told him of the good bite between the two rasta lobster buoys and was on my way back to the dock.

Hope he caught something with the bait..
